Fallout: Equestria Resource

Hi, I'm new so I'm sorry if posted this in the wrong place or there is already a forum page dedicated to this topic already, but I'm having trouble writing a FoE sidefic. It's about a cyber-pony named Tech, and I'm trying to think of a backstory, so far I'm split between two options:

Tech is a scientist pony who worked with Twilight Sparkle making an early version I.M.P to give ponies eternal life, using the genes of Princess Celestia(or Doctor Wooves) but after an acident, Tech is exposed to the I.M.P and is now comatose, he wakes up two-hundred years later to find himself in the heart of the Equestrian Wasteland(possibly with the memories of Doctor Whooves).

Or:

Tech is a shut away genius, living in Stable 124, but when an expirement of his threatens to kill every resident they force Tech to leave, Tech ventures outside and is met with the Equestrian wasteland, and despite his intellect, he has no idea how to survive.

Please tell me what you think I should go with or add your own ideas.

Hmm. Personally, I'd love to see the second option. I personally think that unless it's absolutely neccessary, one shouldn't use 200year old characters that aren't ghouls :3

However, the concept (especially the latter one) sounds very interesting. Pretty much every character has some clue as to what to do once they are in the Wastes; even LittlePip and BlackJack who grew up in Stables knew skills that could help them. Having a character that starts out pretty much at nothing would be interesting :3
