Fallout: Equestria Resource

After lots of inquiry, and a lengthy discussion in the main IRC room, I've gone ahead and taken the initiative to make the #FalloutEquestriaTavern IRC room! This thread is mostly for feedback related to it, and to keep track of regulars.

What is this?
The "tavern" idea started with a discussion of "what would happen if Blackjack, Littlepip, Puppysmiles, and Aurora walked into a bar?" Needless to say, that snowballed, and I suggested we make a room for an in-character, casual roleplay. A couple days and inquiries, I made the room. With some help from Strobe, I got it set up, and now I'm opening the doors!

Rules:
1: No impersonation of others (especially staff!), or use of characters not your own! (Unless you have permission to use a character, that is.)
2: Stay mostly in character, this is a mostly for-fun thing!
3: Being a complete asshat will get you a bad rep, do it too much and you get warned, then kicked, if it persists, we'll have to ban you.
4: Enjoy yourself!

Can you make a quick-start guide for people who aren't used to this sort of thing? For experienced RPers this might seem like a no-brainer but I have no idea where/how to start.

Is it restricted to personal characters used in FoE side-stories?
